Kia crowned as double champion at the 2027 Parkers Awards

  • Small but mighty - Kia EV2 crowned Car of the Year and Best Small Car
  • Kia PV5 Cargo retains Van of the Year title for 2027

Kia has triumphed at the 2027 Parkers Awards with a trio of wins, including both of the top awards, Car of the Year and Van of the Year.

The overall ‘Car of the Year’ award was clinched by Kia’s latest and smallest EV, the EV2, with the same model also winning its competitive category of ‘Best Small Car’. For the second year running, the PV5 Cargo continued its ongoing success by retaining its title of ‘Van of the Year’.

The Parkers Awards celebrate the standout vehicles available to UK motorists, putting their real-world needs firmly in the driving seat. With only ten categories, the awards recognise only the very best in the industry.

Winning three out of ten available awards demonstrates the strength and breadth of Kia’s product line-up, which now spans almost all body styles and powertrains to offer UK customers one of the market’s most comprehensive ranges of vehicles.

EV2: ‘Best Small Car’ and ‘Car of the Year’

Winning ‘Car of the Year’ and ‘Best Small Car’, the EV2 was praised for its interior space and comfort; practicality and impressive range. Launched earlier this year, the EV2 brings everyday usability, impressive technology and efficiency together in one compact package.

The EV2 has been designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, for Europe and in 2027 and has already seen significant customer demand. The EV2 starts from £24,245 on-the-road, with all long-range variants qualifying for the UK Government’s maximum £3,750 Electric Car Grant.

PV5 Cargo: ‘Van of the Year’

Launched in 2025, the PV5 Cargo is Kia’s first purpose-built electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV). Designed specifically to meet the needs of business users, the PV5 Cargo delivers a dedicated electric platform, substantial carrying capacity and innovative technology, all wrapped in an eye-catching and unique design. Kia has expanded the PV5 Cargo range to include new size options, offering customers yet more flexibility. All PV5 Cargo variants are offered with the Government’s Zero Emission Van Grant (ZEVG), reducing the on-the-road cost by £5,000.

Substantial demand for the PV5 Cargo continues in the UK. As of 31 October, registrations have surpassed 5,000, placing PV5 as the best-selling e-LCV model in the UK so far in 2026. The multi-award-winning PV5 will be joined by the PV7 in 2027, as Kia looks to build on its momentum in the commercial vehicle market.

More Details Regarding The Kia PV5

Tom Webster, Head of Content at Parkers, commented: “The Kia EV2 is one of those cars that just makes huge amounts of sense in every major way. It’s efficient, well built, comfortable, quiet and has loads of space inside. The launch of the new Long Range model and the fact that it qualifies for the maximum Electric Car Grant is the seal on a very successful package. Not only is it the best small car we’ve driven recently, but we also reckon its exceptional blend of talent and value means it's the best new car you can currently buy full stop.

“The Kia PV5 set new standards for electric vans when it first arrived in the UK, and it has made a phenomenal mark in its first year of sales, justifying every word of praise we have lavished on it. The future looks really bright for Kia too, as the PV5’s success means we’re excited to see its bigger sibling, the PV7, join the range in the coming year.”

Paul Philpott, President and CEO at Kia UK said: “Winning these awards is a fantastic endorsement of two important new models that are already proving popular with UK customers. Spanning both cars and vans, this recognition demonstrates the strength and breadth of our growing line-up, whilst reinforcing the customer-focused qualities that underpin each product, from design and technology to value and everyday usability.

“Alongside the products themselves, our nationwide dealer partners and dedicated PBV Centres are fundamental to our shared success. Their expertise ensures customers receive the right advice and support, whether they are choosing an electric car for the family or a van for their business.”

The hattrick of awards showcases Kia’s goal of offering one of the largest and most diverse line-ups of any brand, having an EV to suit all customers in both passenger car and e-LCV segments.
