Kia’s new electric van, the PV5, has made an immediate impact in the UK, picking up major industry awards, top safety ratings and even a Guinness World Record just months after launch.
As the first model from Kia’s new Purpose Built Vehicle programme, the PV5 is quickly gaining recognition as a serious option for businesses and families looking to switch to electric.
The Kia PV5 Cargo has already been crowned Van of the Year and Compact Van of the Year at the 2026 What Van? Awards, where judges praised its smooth drive, strong real-world efficiency and clever design. It also received a rare perfect score in independent testing.

On an international stage, the PV5 was also named 2026 International Van of the Year, highlighting Kia’s fast progress in the commercial vehicle sector.
Safety has been another key strength for the PV5. The Cargo version achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, placing it among the safest electric vans currently on sale.
Euro NCAP praised the PV5 for its occupant protection, safety assist systems and post-crash safety performance, with advanced driver assistance features fitted as standard.
In October, the PV5 Cargo set a Guinness World Records title after travelling more than 430 miles on a single charge while carrying its maximum payload.
The attempt was designed to reflect real delivery conditions, including traffic and elevation changes, underlining the van’s efficiency and practicality for everyday business use.
The PV5 range covers both commercial and passenger needs. While the Cargo version continues to collect awards, the PV5 Passenger was named Family Car of the Year by BBC TopGear.com, highlighting its space, comfort and ease of use.
The PV5 Passenger also qualifies for the UK Electric Car Grant, offering £1,500 off the on-the-road price on eligible versions, helping more drivers make the move to electric.
The Kia PV5 Cargo and Passenger are available to order now through TMS Kia’s dedicated PBV Centre on Melton Road, Leicester.
For businesses and families in Leicester, Hinckley, Loughborough and across the Midlands, the PV5 offers a practical electric option with low running costs, strong safety credentials and growing industry recognition.
