Volvo has achieved outstanding success in the 2025 Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Awards, with the Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid T6 taking home five top honours, including the prestigious overall Towcar of the Year title.
Praised by the judges, the XC60 was hailed as “the best towcar available right now,” thanks to its excellent towing capabilities, luxurious comfort, and family-friendly practicality. It also won awards for Best Family Towcar, Best Hybrid Towcar, and Best Towcar for Caravans Over 1,800kg.
Not only that, but Volvo’s V90 Plug-in Hybrid T8 also shone, winning the class for caravans between 1,700kg and 1,800kg, continuing Volvo’s impressive history in the awards, having secured 25 accolades over the past eight years.
Judges were particularly impressed with the XC60’s powerful performance, smooth handling, and comfortable, spacious interior – perfect for caravan enthusiasts. Its sleek design, ease of reversing into pitches, and reliable towing stance were also highlighted.

This year’s competition at the UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire saw 33 vehicles put through rigorous tests, assessing their towing ability, comfort, and quality. The panel included leading industry journalists and caravanning experts.
