Volvo reveals new EX60 Cross Country with raised ride height and AWD

By David Lewis | 21 January 2026

Volvo EX60 Cross Country

Volvo has revealed the new EX60 Cross Country, an all-electric SUV that builds on the EX60 with a higher ride height, rugged design details and all-wheel drive capability.

Unveiled on the same day as the standard EX60, the Cross Country version brings Volvo’s long-running off-road-inspired nameplate into the electric era. It is designed for drivers who want added confidence, versatility and freedom, without sacrificing range, technology or comfort.

Cross Country heritage meets electric power

The EX60 Cross Country retains all the core strengths of the EX60, including long electric range, fast charging and advanced safety technology. What sets it apart is its distinctive Cross Country character, inspired by Volvo models first introduced in 1997.

Volvo says the Cross Country line-up has always been about exploration and capability, and the EX60 Cross Country continues that tradition for a new generation of electric drivers.

Rugged design with exclusive details

Visually, the EX60 Cross Country features several unique design elements. These include exclusive Cross Country wheels, clear branding on the bumpers and D-pillar, wider wheel arches and brushed stainless steel skid plates at the front and rear.

A new exterior colour, Frost Green, is exclusive to the EX60 Cross Country and reflects Volvo’s Scandinavian design roots. Images highlighting the tougher body styling help show how the Cross Country stands apart from the standard EX60.

Higher ride height and adaptable suspension

In addition to its SUV driving position, the EX60 Cross Country sits 20 millimetres higher than the standard EX60, improving visibility and confidence on uneven roads.

With air suspension fitted, drivers can raise the car by a further 20 millimetres when extra ground clearance is needed. The system can also lower the car at higher speeds to improve stability, efficiency and overall driving range.

All-wheel drive performance and range

The EX60 Cross Country is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive. The first variant available is the P10 AWD Electric, offering up to 397 miles of range. This will be followed by the P12 AWD Electric with a longer driving range.

Like the standard EX60, the Cross Country combines strong electric performance with everyday usability, making it suitable for both long motorway journeys and rougher rural routes.

Available to order soon from TMS Volvo

The Volvo EX60 Cross Country is now available to pre-order in selected European markets, with wider availability expected later this year.

Drivers across Leicester, Coventry and Hinckley interested in Volvo’s latest electric SUVs can explore the EX60 Cross Country alongside models such as the Volvo EX60, Volvo EX90 and the full Volvo electric range at TMS Volvo.
