Kia has unveiled the new EV5, an all-electric SUV designed specifically with European drivers in mind.
The mid-size SUV combines bold styling with everyday practicality, offering up to 329 miles of range on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, going from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 30 minutes.
Built on Kia’s dedicated electric platform, the EV5 comes with features suited to Europe’s varied roads and climates. These include one-pedal driving, smart regenerative braking, and advanced battery heating and cooling systems to maintain range in winter conditions
Inside, the EV5 has been designed to feel like a lounge on wheels. Highlights include fold-flat rear seats, a spacious two-metre load area, massage and heated seating options, and materials made from recycled plastics and bio-based foams.
Technology plays a key role, with a wide digital display running Kia’s latest connected infotainment system, over-the-air updates, and compatibility with Google services. The SUV also comes with Digital Key 2.0, fingerprint recognition, and premium Harman Kardon audio.
Safety features include seven airbags and a comprehensive set of driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, and advanced parking aids.
The EV5 is expected to compete in Europe’s fastest-growing vehicle segment, the compact SUV market. It will be available in different trims, including the GT-Line, with a towing capacity of up to 1,200kg.
Kia says the EV5 reflects its strategy to expand electric vehicle sales across Europe, with production aligned to customer demand and regional driving conditions.
