The all-new Kia Seltos arrives in Europe combining bold SUV design and confident road presence
Kia today announces the European debut of the all-new Seltos, marking the introduction of the second generation of its globally successful Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). Positioned in the highly competitive and fast-growing C-SUV segment, the Seltos strengthens Kia’s SUV line-up and supports the brand’s transition towards electrified mobility in Europe.
As Kia’s second best-selling model globally, the Seltos underlines brand’s design leadership and its commitment to delivering refined practicality, modern technology, and advanced usability for customers seeking a versatile SUV with a strong road presence.
The Seltos has been re-engineered to deliver a more confidence-inspiring driving experience and improved everyday usability. Combining authentic SUV character with intelligent technology and a spacious, versatile interior within compact dimensions, the model sets a strong benchmark in the C-SUV segment.

Developed under Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, the Seltos showcases the modern heritage of SUVs combined with forward-looking sophistication inspired by Kia’s EV design language. Its bold, rugged stance and clean, precise surfacing deliver a strong SUV presence in the segment, supported by best-in-class cargo space.

The colour palette of the Seltos includes up to ten hues, ranging from modern sophistication to strong, lively colours. This includes three newly developed colours, exclusive to Europe: Tan Beige, Denim Blue and Pale Grey. Together, these design elements create a bold and expressive SUV that merges rugged capability with refined modernity.
The interior of the Seltos translates EV-inspired design into a traditionally powered SUV, delivering a dynamic, sleek, and modern environment tailored to the needs of everyday European mobility. Wide, clean horizontal forms create a sense of openness, while optimised packaging ensures generous headroom and legroom for all passengers. An open design centre console enhances functionality and reinforces the modern, high-tech feel of the cabin. Premium materials and an uncluttered layout combine comfort with visual clarity.

With a class-leading luggage capacity of 536 litres (VDA) and flexible storage configurations, including a foldable dual-level cargo board, the Seltos supports both daily life and weekend adventure. Kia’s AddGear accessory system further enhances everyday usability by allowing customers to attach modular storage accessories to keep essentials neatly organised.

A comfort-oriented and compliant driving philosophy
Built on Kia’s latest platform architecture, the Seltos was developed through extensive collaboration between Kia’s R&D headquarters in Namyang, South Korea, and the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre (HMETC) in Rüsselsheim, Germany. To ensure the vehicle meets European roads and customer expectations, key engineering and testing activities took place in Spain and Sweden.
The Seltos follows a comfort-oriented and compelling driving philosophy, which deliberately differs from sportier Kia models. With balanced and reliable handling, the vehicle remains stable and controllable even near the handling limit. The suspension architecture has been specifically recalibrated for this model.
Ride comfort and noise, vibration and harshness have been significantly improved through a combination of structural and material upgrades. By adopting the K3 platform, the Seltos benefits from enhanced body and chassis rigidity to reduce vibration, while the addition of a Hydro G-bush on the front suspension delivers a smoother and more premium ride quality.
Particular attention was paid to the steering, which was primarily developed at "group's technical facilities in Europe and tested under various road conditions across the European countries. The vehicle’s optimised steering gear ratio (58 mm/rev) enhances response and precision in all driving situations. It offers a precise on-centre response for motorway driving and comfortable, smooth feedback on winding roads to enhance driver confidence.
The Seltos in Europe provides all-wheel drive with both ICE and HEV powertrains and will be offered in HEV-only form in the UK. It is also the first Kia model to be equipped with e-AWD system (HEV only), which enables precise torque distribution, improved traction, and enhanced stability. Drive Mode Select (Eco, Normal, Sport) allows drivers to adapt performance characteristics to different environments, maintaining comfort and control in everyday driving. In addition, Stay Mode enhances cabin comfort for occupants during stationary use.
The hybrid variant of Seltos, which will be offered in the UK, enhances everyday usability and efficiency. The 2WD version offers 154 PS, while the e-AWD version achieves 178 PS.
The Seltos marks the first time that Kia has applied Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), a technology typically found in EVs, to a hybrid model. The functionality allows external devices to be powered and charged directly from the vehicle.
Seltos is also the first hybrid vehicle within the Group to adopt Smart Regenerative Braking 3.0, which maintains a safe following distance, assists with stopping and automatically modulates deceleration.
Technology, safety, and convenience in harmony
The Seltos places safety at the core of its development, featuring advanced structural engineering and a comprehensive suite of Level 2 ADAS technologies. A key highlight is the latest generation of Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), which uses map and camera data to anticipate speed limit changes and proactively adjust vehicle speed. Drivers can choose between automatic and manual assist modes to ensure broader flexibility.
