Kia has announced UK pricing and specifications for its trio of new GT models: the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT. The first of Kia’s 400-volt, Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) based GT variants, these latest vehicles blend the practical DNA of their non-GT counterparts with a more dynamic driving experience, injecting more passion and thrills into the everyday experience.
Kia’s GT story – 15 years in the making
Kia’s GT story began in 2011 with the Kia GT Concept, a rear-wheel-drive sports saloon that signalled the brand’s ambition to move beyond practical family cars and into desirable GT models. It directly inspired the Stinger, while the first production GT models – the Cee’d GT and Pro Cee’d GT – followed in 2013, developed specifically for European customers and combining everyday usability with more engaging performance and distinctive styling. The GT badge continued with the next-generation Ceed and Proceed GT, with the Stinger GT arriving in 2017 as Kia’s clearest expression at the time of a true grand tourer.
Kia brought its GT philosophy into the electric era in 2022 with the EV6 GT, its most powerful production car at the time and later named 2023 World Performance Car of the Year. The updated EV6 GT increased output to 641bhp and introduced technologies including Virtual Gear Shift, Active Sound Design and dedicated GT drive modes, showing how electrification could enhance Kia’s performance models. This approach now continues with the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT, unveiled at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show as Kia’s first 400V GT variants.
Now, Kia offers GT variants of the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9, meaning a GT version of almost all of Kia’s diverse EV line-up is available.
What’s the same across all three GTs?
The Kia EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT all receive the following highlights:
In order to maximise the overall driving
experience, all GTs are fitted with Kia’s 6-speed Virtual Gear Shift system,
with Active Sound Design to match. Operated via the steering wheel-mounted
paddles when in GT, MyDrive, Sport and Normal modes, drivers can progress
through six simulated ‘gears’ when accelerating up to and slowing down from
speed, each offering seamless audible, visual and tactile feedback for maximum
driver engagement.
This also has dynamic benefits as drivers can hold
a gear through corners to maintain consistent power, ensure maximum power out
of tight bends by selecting a lower gear or use ‘engine’ braking (powered by
variable regenerative braking levels depending on gear) when entering corners.
This works together with Active Sound Design, where
users can choose the volume level for the simulated engine noise. The VGS can
also be activated to simulate a six-speed automatic gearbox, with a long press
of the right paddle. In manual mode, drivers can hit a ‘rev limiter ‘in each
gear, simulating petrol powered performance cars.
Launch control, performance timer, ECS and EDTV are also applied to all vehicles, ensuring they remain some of the most technologically advanced models in their respective classes.
The EV4 GT: Kia’s EV hot hatchback
Amongst Kia’s trifecta of GT variants is the EV4 GT, a reimagination of the brand’s five-seat C-segment family hatchback. Designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, for Europe, the new variant takes the EV4’s award-winning formula and dials it up, with all the GT goodness mentioned above. The EV4 GT also becomes the first model in the C-segment hatchback market to feature Hyundai Motor Group’s renowned VGS, as Kia now offers the system in every one of its GT EVs.
The EV4 GT is neither an out-and-out performance car nor a track-day weapon, instead embodying Kia’s own GT ethos of offering everyday useable power and performance to bring more excitement to the driving experience, while retaining a familiar, comfortable character when required thanks to its front-biased set-up.
With a heavy focus on precision, responsiveness and driver connection, the EV4 GT moves away from the traditional fast-EV approach of point-and-shoot, straight-line speed. Instead, it has been designed, engineered and put into production in the heart of Europe, with a predominant focus on European drivers and roads.
While Kia by no means expects the EV4 GT to overtake the standard EV4 in UK sales volume, it is expected to become the most popular of Kia’s GT line-up.
The Kia EV4 GT costs £49,345 on-the-road. Keeping the browsing and buying process as simple as possible it is offered in a single, highly-equipped trim level, meaning the only option for customers to choose from is the paint. While the standard paint finish is white, all other premium paint options are offered for an additional £650.
Powertrain, battery and charging
Following the simplicity ethos, the EV4 GT is offered with the same 81.4kWh battery pack equipped to the Long Range variants of EV4. Tried and tested, this intelligently packaged battery pack is lithium-ion polymer, with NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) chemistry. It offers a WLTP Combined range of up to 313 miles on a single charge.
While the standard EV4 is front-wheel drive (FWD), the EV4 GT is front-biased AWD. A 145kW front motor, producing 283Nm of torque, is paired with a less powerful rear induction motor producing 70kW and 185Nm of torque. The EV4 GT’s maximum power output is 215kW (288bhp), producing 468Nm of torque. The result is the EV4 GT can accelerate from 0-to-62mph in 5.6 seconds. Demonstrating the benefits of a high-performance EV powertrain, the EV4 GT offers capable acceleration times at higher speeds, too, accelerating from 50-to-75mph in 3.9 seconds.
Intelligently designed for multiple purposes, the EV4 GT’s front motor can switch between maximised efficiency and maximum power output depending on driver inputs and the selected driving mode. Its characteristics, along with the suspension, can be configured in the vehicle’s ‘MyDrive’ drive mode.
Built on Kia’s 400-volt Electric-Global Modular Platform, the EV4 GT allows a maximum charging rate of 128kW. When plugged into a 150kW DC fast charger, the EV4 GT will charge from 10-to-80% in 31 minutes. On a 50kW DC charger, the same charge will take 79 minutes, while a 10-to-100% charge on an 11kW AC charger will take 7 hours and 15 minutes.
To maximise electric range, top speed has been electronically limited to 105mph. This maintains highly dynamic A- and B-road capability, whilst ensuring a usable real-world range.

The Kia EV3 GT: spicing up the crossover EV segment
The EV3 remains Kia’s best-selling EV in the UK, and quickly became the brand’s fastest-selling EV when it went on sale at the end of 2024. Alike the EV4, the Kia EV3 has been injected with the brand’s GT DNA, and features the exact same battery pack, maximum speed, power output and torque as the EV4 GT. Due to its slightly heavier weight, the EV3 GT completes the 0-to-62mph acceleration in 5.7 seconds.
The new variant offers the longest range of Kia’s newest GT models, with a WLTP combined range of up to 334 miles on a single charge. Sharing even more similarities under the skin, the EV3 GT also features the same maximum charging rate and charging times as the EV4 GT.
Designed around compact responsiveness, agile character and everyday confidence, the EV3 GT has a driving character that combines fast point-to-point usability with immediate electric response, composed handling and a confident road feel. This gives drivers a more energising and connected experience across urban, extra-urban and daily driving environments.
The Kia EV3 GT costs from £48,695 on-the-road. Keeping the browsing and buying process as simple as possible it is offered in a single, highly-equipped trim level, meaning the only option for customers to choose from is the paint. While the standard paint finish is white, all other premium paint options are offered for an additional £650. Lithium Silver Matt paint costs an additional £1,500.

The Kia EV5 GT: Kia’s family SUV receives the GT treatment
Launched at the end of 2025, the Kia EV5 is the largest of the brand’s 400V EV models, and alike the smaller EV3 and EV4, the EV5 has received a new GT variant. The EV5 GT brings a more dynamic and engaging experience to the family SUV segment.
The most versatile expression of Kia’s GT philosophy, the EV5 GT combines ride composure, confident traction, refined comfort and all-road capability in a family-oriented electric SUV package, bringing a more composed and capable Kia GT character to everyday journeys, longer drives and varied road conditions. The vehicle also features ‘Pet Mode’ that keeps the cabin at a safe, comfortable temperature when a pet is briefly left inside.
The EV5 GT gives Kia’s electric GT philosophy a more spacious and refined form. Its character is focused on confidence and composure, with the performance and control expected from a Kia GT model combined with the comfort, practicality and versatility that make a C-SUV suitable for different lifestyles and uses.
Being larger and heavier than the other two GT models, the EV5 GT features slightly more power. The dual-motor AWD powertrain produces 301bhp and 480Nm torque, allowing a 0-to-62mph acceleration time of 6.2 seconds. Despite this the EV5 GT still delivers an impressive WLTP combined range of up to 295 miles on a single charge.
The EV5 GT costs from £54,295 on-the-road. Keeping the browsing and buying process as simple as possible it is offered in a single, highly-equipped trim level, meaning the only option for customers to choose from is the paint. While the standard paint finish is white, all other premium paint options are offered for an additional £675. Lithium Silver Matt paint costs an additional £1,500.
