Kia EV4 and PV5 Passenger Qualify for UK Electric Car Grant

The Kia EV4 and Kia PV5 Passenger are the first Kia models confirmed as eligible for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant, helping customers save £1,500 on the purchase price.

Kia UK has announced that all EV4 ‘Air’ models, along with the PV5 Passenger in ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’ trims, qualify for the grant under Band 2 of the scheme. The saving is applied directly to the on-the-road price and is available across both battery options.

Making electric driving more accessible

The Electric Car Grant reduces the cost of switching to electric motoring and supports Kia’s focus on affordable, everyday EVs. All qualifying models are backed by Kia’s industry-leading seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty, with eight years of cover on the high-voltage battery.

Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia UK, said the grant would help even more drivers experience Kia’s electric range, particularly as the new PV5 Passenger arrives through the growing network of Kia PBV Centres.

The Kia EV4

The Kia EV4 continues Kia’s success in the electric car market and is the brand’s first electric model built in Europe, produced at Kia’s Slovakian manufacturing plant.

In ‘Air’ specification with the 81.4kWh battery, the EV4 offers up to 388 miles of range on a single charge. Models fitted with the 58.3kWh battery provide up to 273 miles of range, making the EV4 well suited to both daily driving and longer journeys.

With the Electric Car Grant applied, the Kia EV4 now starts from £33,245 on the road.

The Kia PV5 Passenger

Available through Kia’s new PBV Centre network, the PV5 Passenger is designed to carry up to five people in comfort, with a flexible interior and generous equipment levels.

Two battery options are available. The Standard Range offers up to 183 miles of driving range, while the Long Range version delivers up to 256 miles on a full charge, based on WLTP combined figures.

Built on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S platform, the PV5 Passenger includes advanced driver assistance systems as standard and features a low step-in height of just 399mm, improving access for passengers.

With the Electric Car Grant applied, the Kia PV5 Passenger now starts from £31,495 on the road.
