Changes have been announced to the Motability Scheme, and many drivers are now wondering what their next car will look like. If you’ve previously driven a different brand or had your eye on one for your next lease, it’s completely understandable to feel unsure about the next step.

Motability has refocused the types of cars it offers, removing brands such as BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Alfa Romeo, and Lexus. Coupes and convertibles from all manufacturers have also been removed.
The aim behind this change is simple. The scheme is concentrating on cars that best meet disabled drivers’ needs. Cars that are safe, reliable, and affordable to run, and this is where Kia and Volvo cars excel. Many of the removed models were higher-cost vehicles that sat outside the scheme’s focus on essential, practical mobility.
