Public chargers – Charging out and about

Public charging supports drivers who embark on long journeys or who don’t possess dedicated home chargers. The UK's public EV charging network is expanding rapidly, with numerous networks offering a range of charging options across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These networks vary from national coverage to regional availability, providing slow, fast, rapid and ultra-rapid charging.

From home – Charging at home

Home charging is convenient, cost-effective and ensures a full battery each morning, making it a preferred choice for many EV and PHEV owners. Several home-charging solutions are available, including standard three-pin sockets, dedicated home charging units and smart chargers. Dedicated units, often wall-mounted, offer faster charging and increased safety compared to standard sockets. Smart chargers provide additional features like scheduling, remote monitoring and integration with solar panels.

Here at TMS we have recently partnered with Ohme as an official supplier of EV home charging points.

Ohme offers simple, cost efficient and solar compatible home charging systems that we are proud to recommend to our customers. For more details click the link below.

From work – Charging at work

Many UK businesses offer EV charging options for their employees, including dedicated workplace charging stations and fleet charging solutions. Workplace chargers, typically installed in car parks, provide convenient access during work hours and can include standard or fast charging units. Additionally, smart chargers allow for energy management and usage tracking. EV workplace charging is smart in other ways: it enhances employee satisfaction, supports sustainability goals, and promotes a green company image.
