Kia updates PV5 Passenger line-up with new 7-seat variant and high-spec ‘Elite’ grade
PV5 Passenger 7-seat
Kia has expanded its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) line-up with the introduction of the PV5 Passenger 7-seat, a new ‘Elite’ grade and key updates designed to meet growing demand for flexible multi-passenger mobility.
The PV5 Passenger 7-seat is a highly versatile all-electric people mover suited to a wide range of target audiences, from family and group travel to ride-hailing and taxi services, including airport transfers, commercial shuttles and other shared mobility applications.
Expanding beyond the existing 5-seat variant, the PV5 Passenger 7-seat brings three rows of seating to offer generous comfort and legroom for all occupants. A low step-in height of 399mm, combined with sliding doors, ensures easy access to the second and third row seating. The new 2-2-3 seating configuration maximises interior flexibility, supported by 318 litres rear cargo, rising to 785 litres with the third-row seats folded.
The new variant benefits from Kia’s flat-floor E-GMP.S platform, enabling generous interior space and best-in-class legroom (up to 1,041mm), headroom (up to 1,076mm), and shoulder room (up to 1,732mm).It supports long-term durability, modularity and advanced connectivity, including integration with fleet management systems.
More than 390km of range, 10-80% charging in under 30 minutes
The Kia PV5 Passenger 5-seat will continue to be available with both the Standard Range 51.5kWh and Long Range 71.2kWh battery options, while the PV5 Passenger 7-seat is exclusively available with the Long Range 71.2kWh battery in the UK.
The PV5 Passenger 7-seat offers more than 390km range (WLTP, pending homologation). And, thanks to high-power DC charging of up to 150kW, the battery can be recharged from 10-80% in under 30 minutes.
Like all PV5 variants, the front-mounted charging port adds an extra layer of practicality, allowing the model to be recharged without obstructing access to the cargo area. With Kia Charge, customers have access to over 74,000 charge points across the UK, and more than one million across 27 European countries.
The PV5 Passenger is also equipped with Kia's Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)* technology on ‘Plus’ and ‘Elite’ grades, allowing the electric vehicle to power external devices using an internal or external socket.
PV5 MY27 updates
The PV5 Passenger 7-seat will be introduced along with model year 2027 (MY27) updates. As part of Kia’s ongoing product enhancement programme, these updates will further improve comfort, usability, and everyday practicality across the range. For the PV5 Passenger, these improvements place a strong focus on the driver experience, with the introduction of a driver’s height-adjustable armrest to improve comfort, particularly in urban and professional use scenarios.
These updates will be applied across the Passenger line-up ensuring that all variants benefit from enhanced ergonomics and ease of use. In addition, convenience and safety are improved through features such as Walk Away Lock, while everyday practicality is supported by solutions like the flat antenna, helping to maintain a vehicle height below 1.9 metres for improved access to height-restricted environments.
Together, these updates reinforce the PV5’s positioning as a highly adaptable platform, tailored to both passenger mobility and commercial use cases.
Designed for both commercial and personal use
The Kia PV5 Passenger features a bold and futuristic design concept, with strong visual elements and a clean, modern finish. The software-led architecture offers over-the-air (OTA) updates and seamless integration with fleet systems for commercial use.
The intuitive digital cockpit is centred around a 12.9-inch infotainment display and a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster, with access to an expanding ecosystem of third-party apps through Kia in-vehicle infotainment and the Pleos app market.
Ride and handling are optimised for comfort, with improved noise insulation, reduced road vibration and refined chassis tuning. A class-leading 5.5-metre turning radius enhances manoeuvrability in urban environments, while optimised steering and gear ratios help reduce driver fatigue. The model also features a best-in-class suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
New three-grade line-up with ‘Elite’ added
From launch, the PV5 Passenger has been available with two grades; ‘Essential’ and ‘Plus’. These are now joined by a new high-spec ‘Elite’ grade.
Starting with ‘Essential’, the extensive standard equipment list included with every PV5 Passenger, comprises of:
Furthermore, standard equipment for ‘Essential’ entry-grade has also seen enhancements added in-line with PV5 MY27 updates, including:
The already comprehensive ‘Plus’ grade now sits in the middle of the PV5 Passenger line-up with core features including, over and above ‘Essential’:
